In July, we went to Colorado to write and make photographs. We stayed in Minturn, a small town near Vail and used it as a base to hike from. We hiked across the road, up a big hill to Lion Head Rock. Another day, we drove to Shrine Mountain and had a fabulous hike up a muddy trail and finally ended up on snow. The last couple days, we hiked near town on a trail called Cross Creek Trail through vistas of mountains, streams, a beaver lodge and more.
