Saturday, I took a mountaineering
skills class from Colorado Mountain
School. Coincidentally, we went to the exact snow hill I
had been to the day before. Thunderstorms moved in and we were
chased down to our cars twice. Finally, we went to lower elevation
to avoid lightning and to practice moving as rope teams.
Saturday night, I decided
to go into town to Estes Park to eat a real dinner before Sunday's
climb. After a massive meal, I headed back to my campsite.
I awoke at 4 AM, took down my tent in the moonlight as quietly as
I could trying not to disturb the other campers, and left RMNP for
the school in Estes Park.
